I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! I know in my home the holidays are all about eating. Lots of food. Lots and lots of food, which has to be protected from the dogs at all cost. And since we're the minority, it's a battle.

Open the fridge door with dogs around. "Oh, the fridge door is open? We'll help ourselves, thanks!"

Have plate eye level on lap with dogs around. "Oh, you've held your plate down for me. We'll help ourselves, thanks!"

Look at TV with plate on lap, and food 'mysteriously' disappears.

I'm sure it's lack of discipline on my part, I should be setting firm boundaries. But I have to sleep sometime. And the dogs know it. And they know I'd hate to wake up with shaved eyebrows....
